How Be Still works
Be Still is a Scripture-grounded conversational companion for moments when family-court pressure, fear, grief, anger, or exhaustion make it hard to slow down. It offers general spiritual support, not legal advice, therapy, diagnosis, crisis care, or a finding about the person using it.
1. It listens for a provisional understanding
The companion forms a small, revisable reading of what the person appears to be facing and needing. That reading is a working guess, not a label or conclusion. It is reconsidered as the conversation changes.
2. It retrieves tactics, practical teaching, and Scripture
Be Still searches three locally prepared collections: descriptions of recurring attorney and conflict tactics, practical teachings for responding without taking the bait, and 2,300 structured Scripture passage cards. It uses the first two to ask what objective a move may serve, what reaction could benefit the other side, and what truthful, disciplined countermeasure may deny that advantage. It uses Scripture to find the fortitude, wisdom, courage, restraint, and endurance needed to carry out that response without becoming what the person is fighting.
The passage cards record biblical context, pastoral uses, cautions, and common misuses. Retrieval remains separate from canonical Bible text, so neither semantic matching nor tactical analysis can alter the passage itself.
3. It tests relevance and safety
Candidate passages are checked for fit with the conversation, their surrounding context, the pastoral movement they invite, and foreseeable misuse. The process asks whether an application could intensify shame, fear, coercion, punitive images of God, unsafe reconciliation, forced exposure, or premature meaning-making.
In abuse and family-court situations, peace, forgiveness, submission, marriage, or unity language must not become pressure to contact an unsafe person, disregard a court order, surrender evidence, accept symmetrical blame for coercive control, or restore trust and access without safety and accountability.
4. It may choose no verse
A verse is not required for every turn. Sometimes the more faithful response is to listen, acknowledge uncertainty, suggest a qualified human resource, or recognize that safety and stabilization come before interpretation. Be Still should not force a spiritual conclusion merely to complete a pattern.
5. It prepares a response and checks it again
The response is reviewed for unsupported claims, legal or clinical overreach, passage misuse, tone, and safety before it is shown. This process reduces predictable errors; it cannot eliminate them. Visitors should verify important information and use current professional or emergency help when the situation calls for it.
Privacy and human presence
Be Still does not require an account. Christian Pro Se does not write conversation text to its database or logs. The privacy page describes the limited working state and anonymous totals used to operate the service.
Some care cannot be supplied by software. Immediate danger, self-harm, abuse, child safety, medical or mental-health emergencies, legal deadlines, and decisions about court orders require appropriate human help. The referrals page and abuse and family-court safety page provide starting points.
